Celebrating the Women at Mykor: Meet Yasmin Siebra, our Admin and Digital Marketing Assistant

Yasmin is our Admin and Digital Marketing Assistant and she's based in our office in Lisbon, Portugal. Aiming to combine her passion for sustainability and Marketing, Yasmin joined Mykor to assist with its Digital Presence and make an impact within the industry.

In honour of Women's Month, we made a brief Q&A with Yasmin to share real insights of women in the construction industry and you can read it below:

  • How did you first become involved in the construction industry?

“Working at Mykor is my first experience in the construction industry. It was quite challenging to get involved in this sector, it was hard to understand the specific terms and I also had a lot of doubts about how I could succeed in this field after having dealt with different industries before.”

  • What's a career highlight or accomplishment you're most proud of in your time with us?

“My biggest challenge has been to build brand awareness on our social media and website in an industry I wasn't familiar with. It was intimidating at first, but I am extremely proud of the growth our accounts have seen in a short period of time. I am also proud to have learned, implemented and achieved incredible results.”

  • How do you see diversity benefiting our team's dynamics and performance?

“Having a diverse team like ours - in terms of gender, age, background and nationality - has many advantages. We complement each other very well with our knowledge, experience and skills. This diversity fosters innovation, creativity and a broader perspective when tackling challenges.”

  • What advice or encouragement would you offer to other women interested in joining the construction industry?

“Don't be afraid to jump into something new just because it's out of your comfort zone. The construction industry is for anyone who wants to be a part of it, regardless of gender, age or background. Be willing to learn and adapt and you'll succeed, this industry is slowly welcoming women and you can be part of the change by taking a step towards it.”
